Yemen, UN discuss security facilities to int’l humanitarian action system

SANAA, April 23, 2019 (Saba) – Deputy Prime Minister for Security and Defense Affairs Major General Jalal Al-Rwaishan met Tuesday with United Nations Resident Coordinator in Yemen, Lise Grande.

The meeting discussed aspects related to the existing facilities to the international humanitarian system by the competent security agencies, including the continued safety of humanitarian staff, especially during their field visits at the level of the capital Sanaa and the Yemeni provinces.

Al-Rwaishan expressed the commitment of the various ministries and competent authorities to continue to overcome difficulties in humanitarian activity and to work on the procedures that serve this activity and its future expansion.

He also praised the various humanitarian programs and activities of the international agencies and organizations currently working to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

He stressed that the Yemeni people viewed with great appreciation and respect the efforts of the humanitarian system to reduce their suffering, which is exacerbated by the continued US-saudi aggression, blockade and economic war.
