Culture Ministry celebrates World Book Day, World Intellectual Property Day in qualitative event

SANAA, April 23 (Saba) – The Ministry of Culture, represented by the Intellectual Property and Creative Works Sector, on Tuesday organized a celebration on the World Book and Copyright Day, which falls on April 23 of each year, and the World Intellectual Property Day, which falls on April 26 of each year.

At the celebration, Deputy Minister of Culture Huda Ablan stressed that the two events aim to encourage reading among the community as well as to spread a culture of preserving all our rights, whether it is our right to live in safety or to preserve our entire land or even protecting our monuments and cultural heritage in all kinds.

“The book is the best friend,” she affirmed.

In recognition of the importance of the book and its role in the development of the societies, UNESCO has adopted a World Book and Copyright Day to encourage reading and reading, she said.

During the ceremony, which witnessed presenting musical works, a number of speeches were delivered to a number of influential cultural institutions, stressing the importance of the book, reading, knowledge and intellectual property rights, and the need to contribute to the consolidation of collective awareness of these rights, foremost of which is the right to learning and the right to protect intellectual property rights.
