Minister of Social Affairs and Labor meets UNICEF representative

SANAA, April 17 (Saba) – Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Obeid bin Dhiba met Wednesday UNICEF Resident Representative Sara Beysolow Nyanti.

The meeting discussed the issue of accelerating the distribution of the fifth phase of emergency cash aid before the month of Ramadan.

The meeting dealt with the liquidation of social security statements through the cancellation of cases that do not merit inclusion and the inclusion of beneficiaries only in accordance with the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council.

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor commended UNICEF’s continued support to the Ministry’s programs on child protection and aid to poor category within the Social Welfare Fund.

He referred to the suffering of children in Yemen as a result of the targeting by the countries of the US-saudi aggression coalition, the latest of which was the aggression that took place in a number of schools in the district of Sawan, which killed and wounded dozens, mostly school students.

The representative of UNICEF praised the cooperation between the Ministry and the Organization in the field of protection , indicating that the issue of social security will be discussed with the Ministry and the Fund soon.

Nyanti expressed her condolences to the families of the victims of the schools of the neighborhood of Sawan.
