Planning Minister meets Humanitarian Affairs’ Expert in UNICEF

SANAA, April 17 (Saba) – Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul Aziz al-Kumaim on Wednesday met with an Expert for Humanitarian Affairs in the Middle East and North Africa region in UNICEF’s Regional Office.

During the meeting, they discussed issues related to strengthening cooperation between Yemen and UNICEF in areas of common interest, especially with regard to the implementation of the national strategy for social protection and issues related to the humanitarian conditions imposed by the continuation of the US-saudi aggression coalition’s war in Yemen.

Al-Kumaim stressed the keenness of the ministry’s government to provide all available support and facilities to enhance UNICEF activities in Yemen.

He noted the efforts exerted by the Organization to strengthen cooperation and coordination with the competent sectors of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.

The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation also stressed the importance of UNICEF playing a more active role in supporting the government’s efforts aimed at alleviating the repercussions of the humanitarian situation, which was exacerbated by continued blatant aggression on Yemen land and human.
