ABYAN, May 18 (Saba)- Abyan Governor Saleh al-Zawri has declared that 300 cases infected with acute diarrhea have been registered in Zunjbar and Khanfar districts in Abyan province.
He pointed out that four cases among the infected have died , and two cases of cholera infection have been confirmed.
Meanwhile, an epidemiological surveillance team of the Central Laboratory in Aden began on Tuesday a campaign against the pollution of drinking water in the two districts to prevent the spread of the acute diarrhea cases.
Director of the epidemiological surveillance in Abyan province Mohamed Abdullah pointed out that all infected cases are of age groups between four years and forty-five years old.
In related news, an expanded health meeting was held on Wednesday in Abyan province to discuss ways of overcoming the acute diarrhea cases due to the pollution of water in the two districts.
