Yemen, Turkey talk on military cooperation

SANA’A, Jan. 11 (Saba) – Minister of Defense Mohammed Nasser Ahmed received here on Tuesday his Turkish counterpart Wajdi Gonul.

At the meeting, Ahmed and Gonul discussed aspects of bilateral relations and the two brotherly countries’ armies in military area of training and medical services as well as in fighting against terrorism and sea piracy.

For his part, Ahmed praised the partnership relations between the two countries and the two brotherly armies, expressing his admiration of the modern level of the Turkish armed forces in different areas.

For his part, Gonul expressed his country’s readiness to develop cooperation and exchanging experiences in military field in order to enhance the capacity of Yemeni armed forces.

The Turkish Defense Minister and many other ministers is accompanying the President of Turkey Abdullah Gul in his visit to Yemen started on Monday.

Five cooperation agreements, one was in military defense industry, signed on Monday between the two brotherly countries.
