Cairo, November 02 (Saba) - Palestine officially requested the Secretariat of the Arab League to hold a meeting of the Arab follow-up Committee to discuss latest developments in light of
obstacles hindering peace efforts, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Monday.

Palestinian representative at the Arab League and its ambassador in Cairo Barakat Al-Farra announced in a press statement on Monday that Palestine requested for a substitute meeting for the meeting which was scheduled to be held last month and was postponed upon the request of two Arab states.

Farra stated that Palestinians asked for the meeting to be held between November 13th and 15th, adding that Palestinians are looking for a strong, supportive and unified Arab stand that links resuming negotiations with Israel''s freezing of all settlement activities.

Arab League Secretary General office head Ambassador Hesham Yousef Sunday said the league is holding consultations to arrange an early ministerial meeting . During the upcoming meeting, Arab ministers are to discuss latest developments of peace efforts in light of the Israeli insistence to resume settlement construction in Arab occupied territories and its continuous attacks against Jerusalem.

Arab follow-up committee includes Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemen, Sudan, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Palestine, Qatar, and Syria in addition to Arab League.
