Expanded meeting in Sanaa reviews results of National Water Resources Information Program
[11/February/2019]
SANAA, Feb. 11 (Saba) – Minister of Water and Environment Nabil al-Wazir on Monday chaired an expanded meeting in Sanaa to review the final report on the first phase of the National Water Resources Information Program.

In the meeting, al-Wazir pointed to the important role of the program to be the main source of information in the field of water resources.

He praised the efforts exerted by the program staff and representatives of the concerned authorities, confirming the ministry's support for the continuation of the program work.

The report indicated that the program's first phase, which lasted six months, included collecting of all data and information related to the water resources across the country through a network linking between all the concerned bodies and institutions and the main server at the Water Ministry, according to the report.

During the first phase, the program worked through the network system to analyze date and issue reports on water resources at the level of basins and watersheds with the aim of developing and preserving those resources, according to the report.

The program aims in general to achieve the sustainable and integrated development of water resources and to protect them from depletion by providing decision-makers with correct information to contribute to the water policy development.
