[23/December/2018] SANAA, Dec. 23, (Saba) - The First Undersecretary of Capital Sanaa Mayor Mohammad Al-Sourmi anlong Undersecretary of the Culture Sector in the capital Municipality Dr. Ahmed Al-Malsi and the Local Councils Deputy, Abdul Latif Al-Amri, on Sunday opened the exhibition of the Painting and Fine Art Exhibition under the slogan "Sanaa is a town for Civilization and Heritage".
The officials together with Director of the Culture Office in the Municipality of capital Sanaa, Najat Bahekim, toured the exhibition halls of the painters Arwa Mutahar, Khalid Al-Junaid and Nasreen Hassan, which reflected the architectural character of the old city of Sana'a and its green environment and folklore heritage.
The colorful exhibition of paintings on paper and velvet, oil colors on canvas and sapphires, represents the aesthetic image of the old city of Sanaa and its unique characteristics in coexistence and harmony, and calls for its preservation from the distortion and developments in the architectural style.
The Undersecretary of the Capital Municipality praised the initiative of the artists in organizing this exhibition in cooperation with the sector and the Culture Office in the Municipality of capital Sanaa to convey the message that the old Sanaa is a unique city and efforts should be made to preserve and preserve in the framwork of the World Heritage List.
Al-Malsi pointed out that the exhibition aims to highlight the characteristics of old Sana'a and its distinctive character in heritage and architectural building and addressing the human conscience to preserve it from distortion and development.
For her part, the director of the Culture Office in the capital Sanaa Municipality explained that the old Sana'a deserves this gesture by the plastic artists and this interest as the city of science, civilization, history and symbol of peace and cultural diversity.
Art artist Arwa Mutahar confirmed that the old Sanaa is a painting of creativity and beauty that inspires poets, writers and painters. She pointed out that most of her paintings evoked the architectural style, the folklore heritage and the green environment of the city.
