[06/November/2018] DHAMAR, Nov. 6 (Saba) - The Agricultural Coordination Council on Tuesday held a meeting held in Dhamar province, under the chairmanship of Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Eng. Abdulmalik Al Thawr and Governor of Dhamar Mohammad Al Maqdashi.
The meeting dealt with aspects related to the directives of the leadership of province to launch martyr Saleh al-Samad Award for the largest farmers in wheat production and the steps taken by the council in preparing the regulations and procedures governing its activities and tasks.
The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation emphasized the importance of the Council in organizing and unifying official efforts and benefiting from scientific agricultural research in promoting agricultural reality.
He pointed out that his visit to the province of Dhamar comes on the guidance of the leadership of the Supreme Political Council to see closely the agricultural situation and the difficulties facing the agricultural sector considering Dhamar as one of the largest agricultural provinces in Yemen.
He stressed the need to go towards the cultivation of grain mainly, coffee and potatoes because of importance of these crops of particular economic in light of the difficult economic conditions experienced by the country.
