Yemen, Indonesia discuss increasing investments

SANA'A, July 17 (Saba) - Yemen and Indonesia discussed Tuesday the possible ways to increase the Indonesian investments in the country.

This came in a meeting brought to gather Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa with Indonesian President's special envoy to the Middle East Alwi bin Shihab and chairman of board of directors of Medco Energi Lukman Mahfoedz.

The Premier accentuated the country's keenness on developing cooperation areas with Indonesia in various fields, calling on Indonesian businessmen, investors and companies to invest in Yemen that is full of promising investment opportunities.

He indicated to the facilities the government provides in the investment field, stressing that investments would enjoy all possible merits and forms of support.

The Indonesian envoy affirmed the common keenness to develop the various cooperation areas between Yemen and Indonesia. He said that Indonesian investments in Yemen would be increased in the near future.

The meeting also touched on the progress of the Medco Energi works in blocks 82 and 83 in Hadramout province, and the company's will to increase its activities to new blocks.
