Yemeni official meets Italian media on sidelines of Milan Tourism Fair
[23/February/2011]

MILAN,Feb.23(Saba)- Undersecretary of Tourism Ministry and Head of Yemeni delegation participating in Italian Milan Tourism Fair Omar Balghaith has met on sidelines of Yemen wing's events in the fair with representatives of Italian media.

During the meeting, Balghaith pointed to the negative reflections on the Yemeni tourism due to the warnings issued by some European embassies in Yemen, noting that what is happening in Yemen may take place anywhere in the world.

Balghaith noted the stability of situations in Yemen, pointing in this regard that there is a large group of foreigners working in Yemen, particularly in the fields of oil and gas production.

He invited at the same time a number of Italian journalists to visit Yemen in order to be familiar with the situations in Yemen.

Yemen's participation in the fair is to confirm its place on the international map and to meet increasing global demand for Yemen and its unique tourist product, Balghaith said.

Yemen's wing in the Milan Fair has witnessed the signing of a number of deals and agreements between the national tourist companies and Italian companies for sending a number of tourists to the Island of Socotra.
