Deputy FM: Yemen concerns to develop its democracy
[04/November/2009]

MARRAKECH, Nov. 04 (Saba)- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohi al-Deen al-Dhabi affirmed Wednesday concern of Yemen to improve its democratic experience and expand the political participation via local governance with wider jurisdictions as well as implementation of the political, financial and administrative reforms.

This gesture came in al-Dhabi Yemen speech in the 6th conference of Future Forum, currently held in Morocco's Marrakech city, in which he affirmed that Yemen is witnessing constant improvement in the democratic expertise, political work and local governance.

He reviewed Yemen's local governance experience, particularly in 2001 and 2006 elections, noting that the democratic process is developing in Yemen through dialogue with the various political spectrums.

Al-Dhabi emphasized refusal of Yemen of all violent acts, killings, breaches of human rights and other violations committed by Houthi rebels in Saada, affirming that the government opted to confront those rebels to preserve security and stability.

He noted that the only way to comply with legitimate demands of any political groups can not be reached but within the constitutional and legal framework applied in the country.
